CITATION(Jack @ 08/07/2004, 13:05)
I would appreciate it if any of you could direct me to a place wherein i could learn to skate.
This very non-profit organization (Pari-Roller) organizes *free* "initiation sessions" before the Friday Night Skate.
(I assume you're in Paris or thereabouts)
If you read any french, see:
This topic in the FNF forumRough translation of the salient points:
- what: unstructured initiation sessions, organized by volunteers, available to give advice and practice as needed/requested
- where : on the Montparnasse mall between tower and railway station, just below the large clock on the left
- when : friday nights, 8pm-9pm (canceled if rainy)
- confirm with Alain by phone 06.64.50.32.08 on friday mornings
*CAUTION* : Even though this is just before the big friday night skate, that ride is reserved to confirmed skaters who can sustain balance, brake and skate at high pace in a crowd. Do NOT undertake that skate if you're unsure of your level, you'd put your safety and that of the other skaters at risk. Consult with the staff during the initiation session to gauge your level.

There are also more stuctured lessons organized by "professionals" (which you do have to pay). I think "Roller Squad Institute" (search them on the web) does that.
