Version complète : Paris Friday Night Skate In October?
Forum de Pari-Roller.com > International forums > English forum
Tom
I might be visiting Paris in October 2004 and I was wondering if the Friday Night Skate will still be going on.
fortin
sure it will but only if streets are not wet
david
every friday evening... if it's not raining smile.gif

I went for the first time in July and it was fantastic. I also recently discovered the London FNS and did that. Of the two, Paris seemed to have a real buzz about it

I found FNS quite funny too....
I bit smaller though.

Quite frankly, the streets in London are sh1te. But the fact that you have so few skaters (when there's 400 of us it's exceptional!) means that one gets to know everybody.

The core groups of skaters are a bunch of buddies, they get to see each other quite often outside of skating, even if Hyde Park's Serpentine Road and the Vic (the pub where they drink after - and sometimes before - the skate) are the main metting points.

Overall a small but great community.

You can find more info on www.serpentineroad.com (general skating), www.thefns.com (friday night skate) and www.londonskate.com (wednesday night skate).

Update!

There's a (slower) sunday skate as well! And the Friday website has changed.

LondonSkate (Wednesday May-Oct): www.londonskate.com

And the community on: www.serpentineroad.com

If you're talking 'bout the Easy Peasy Skate, well it's for ultra gumbies - sorry, ultra beginners. It's for kids on Toy's R Us skates.

But then, there might be another new skate I'm no aware of... enlighten us! smile.gif

No that's the one all right. Everybody has to start somewhere, haven't they? And I'd rather see them on the Easy Peasy then on the FNS...

Get them out on the Sunday Stroll, then! (www.lfns.co.uk) shows you the next route. As long as people can stop and turn, it's a great skate for those new to skating, as well as those who just want a chilled, relaxed skate. I think you have the roller et coquillages in Paris, non? Next step up would probably be the LondonSkate (www.londonskate.com) which runs on Wednesday evenings throughout the summer, or the first half of the London Friday Night Skate (also www.lfns.com). 2nd half of the LFNS is faster though.

All that is valuabe information - let's hope people find it here!
